Patrik,
Thanks this is great!
Takk
The slow, pains taking process, of sorting the wiring commences. I have never seen such a bodge job in my life…
O well, trace and mark, trace and mark.Good luck getting the paint… All UK companies I have tried refuse to post it as its classed as hazardous good… If you find a provider in EU please let me know.
Hi Denis,
I tried Castrol 75w 90 when I first got my 90 TD5 last year. Found real problems in the winter getting second gear. Changed for Land Rover MTF. Expensive but gear box seems happier. I have done 30k this year and checked gear box level this week. Oil still looks new.
Have a look here for reference https://topix.landrover.jlrext.com/topix/service/archive/63182/technical%20data.pdf

Dont change to ATF, my clutch seal blew out, guess it didn’t like it…
Thanks Svante,
The biggest pain was I had to remove the winch as I could not access the grill screws. Then getting the bonnet catch to line up again was a bit fiddly, but other than that not so bad.
All the Best Michael
Hi Anders,
My TD5 90 2002 is Coniston green 637 here is a photo if it helps.
Hi Anders,
You will find it on the vin plate near the master brake cylinder, see sketch attached. Its normally a 3 digit code, also see https://www.defender-landrover.co.uk/p/paint-codes.html
Regards Michael
Hi Thomas,
Question if you dont mind. I have an old spare set of BFG AT. Do you know if it would it be legal for me to add screw studs? I have decent normal studded winter tires, but if we get as much show as last year up here in Kramfoss I was thinking snow tires may be better. I had to resort to chanins at one point…
All the Best Michael
I fitted Cooper mud/snow tires to my Defender 90 https://www.bythjul.com/dack/cooper Happy with them, but it has reduced fuel economy.

Thanks Henrik,
I will be intrested to see if the intercooler and electric fan improve the fuel consuption. At nearly 18SEK a Lt its getting expensive.
They are a lovely couple and Björn does great work. Really sad news.
Sorry for writing in English. When I purchased my Lastbilsregistrerad Defender 90 the guy I brought it from said the single back seat in back cargo area could be used for short distances. After checking the rules and with a Police friend of mine I have removed the seat. Apparently these can only be used if the vehicle is registered as a camper, has a bed, table and cooker fitted. There are a couple other rules, but neither applied, see attached.
Regards Michael

Hi Tony,
Just as follow up, I watched this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=miatX9mkxNs I have been using this guy as reference for ages. He shows refurbishing his clutch.
He recommends changing DOT4 for ATF steering fluid. I am going to try it as I can see from the colour of my clutch fluid its wearing again. The idea is ATF gives better lubrication than DOT4 and as far as I can see DOT4 is only needed for brakes as they get hot. I will need to give it a good flush out, but I will try it and let you know.Cheers Michael
Hi Mattias,
Sorry I cant write in Swedish. However, I used a garage storage place 9kms from Arlanda airport. There is a bus and taxis that run to the airport, so an quick ride into Stockholm on train. I used this for several years for storing my car while working overseas. Much cheaper than Stockholm prices. https://storemore.se/arlanda
