      Hi,

I’ve just brought my Landrover over from the UK. I drove to the airport last week and noticed that it was shuddering between 50-70 klms. When I stop accelerating and put the clutch in the vibrations stop so it cant be the tires.

Can any body help and the cars parked in Gothenburg and I live in Skara so does anyone know of a good garage that really knows about Landrovers, in either of these places.

      Many thanks in advance :?
      Alex

Sounds like you have a u-joint that’s going south.

Get under the truck and check the drive shafts, remove the culprit, engage diff lock and drive til you can order new u-joint from England.

        Todd.

          Hi Todd,

          Thanks for your reply.

I bought a BUJ6 UJ from england as I thought this might be the problem but I’ve inspected the 4 UJ joints and can’t seem to see any movement in any of them!

How else would I check? I have notices that grease is leaking (not alot) from the front DS , the middle part where there is some sort of connection (sorry for not being more tech.)

Would it better if I just took the DS off and inspected them on a work bench. What should I be looking for on failing UJ joints.

          Thanks
          Alex

I would remove the drive shafts, one at a time, put difflock in and drive, see if it helps at all. If it doesnt I would work my way down the driveline from there :)
