Well, it took me some time but here are our pictures of our 5000km trip with my 1968 2,25 diesel…
Ready to go at Jef’s place…
First pitstop was ‘Zolverrein’, an enormous coalmine and we only visited the ‘washing installation’
The ‘Ruhr’, cultural capital of Europe 2010.
After camping near Osnabrück we headed north to Lübeck…

Friday-afternoon we arrived at Verner’s meeting in Denmark (we took a few ferries but no piccies because flat battery…)
After we had a few beers we played some local, Scandinavian? games; you can see the effect that alcohol has…Jef still in 1st gear…
Oops! Just shifted into 3rd…Saturday we had a greenlaning tour…

Time for ‘aperitive’ (the local shop gave us 2 crats of beer, for free!)
Cosy BBQ in the evening…
After someone winched me (no front prop) up a small hill we said goodbye to everyone and Jef and I went to ‘Sverige’…
LARGE country…
We immediately drove some lanes…
to our private lake…
Jef took us to a nice small museum with strange ‘cars’ and planes…
Jef wanted to stay in the southern part of Sweden; we headed north for Varberg radio-station (early 1920’s and unique in Europe).
We headed for Tanum (rock carvings) and on the campsite we came across these chaps…They we’re heading towards a Land Rover meeting in Norway…
But first Tanum where they reconstructed ancient houses,…
On our way to the LR-meeting…
Because it was a LR-meeting(…) it was of course expensive; well if we had the time to stay from Thue.- Sun. it was ‘ok’(£140) but we only had time for two nights and they still wanted £110!! (no food included, just camping and laning…). So I took a few snaps of the few Series on site…

Because we absolutely wanted to see a few places in Sweden we headed north, through Oslo and eventually by some lanes into Sweden…

Because the weather wasn’t that good we headed south which meant, in this case, Germany (and also because we wanted some cosy towns, pubs & restaurants…)

Sassnitz, here we come! 4 Hours ferry under a blue sky…
‘Stubbenkammer’…
Stralsund (former Hansa-league city); view from our campsite. One of the prettiest towns we’ve ever visited and pretty unspoilt (former DDR).

Lüneburg, also very nice…
Goslar, probably one of the best preserved ancient towns…
Because Goslar was an imperial town; the emperor had of course an ‘imperial palace’…
But we came for this…Rammelsberg! A mine for over a 1000 years…

That’s all for now! We had an excellent trip; hopefully next year as good; probably east or south…

At a petrolstation in Sweden, more the 1800 km from home we came across this…
After a few phonecalls to Denmark, England, Belgium and Sweden; ordering a spare part in England (and canceling it the last minute) this chap turned up after just 1h!! In the middle of nowhere, well to me…(I’m a bit used to people in full and crowded Flanders…)
A brandnew relay!! (and NOT a SHITPART one!)
Old (well 1,5 years…) relay… When this happen’t in the Alps (or anywhere else…)…
At 18h00 we we’re of and eading for a campsite; bought a few beers to relax (which was really what I needed…)
Thanks again Johan and Göran(and others)!!!! When in the neighboorhood give me a ring!
